Accessibility Insights - Technology & Tools 

According to the US Census, there are approximately 9 million individuals in the U.S. with vision difficulty as well as other conditions including hearing impairments, difficulty remembering, concentrating, or making decisions, as well as challenges with movement. All of these people are consumers and citizens, who desire to fully participate in the activities of daily living many of us take for granted.

This talk will focus on technology and tools that make it possible for these individuals to live independently and successfully as well as provide an overview of the federal requirements for digital accessibility and how to incorporate improved accessibility in the products and services used by these people.

Our Speaker:  Sherri Yerk-Zwickl  - AITP's MAC (Mgmt. Advisory Council)

Sherri Yerk-Zwickl is the Vice President for Information Technology and inaugural Chief Information Officer at Campbell University. Ms. Yerk-Zwickl has advanced the goals and aspirations of students for over 35 years at various institutions including serving on the EDUCAUSE Board and other professional IT and community-based organizations. Currently, as a member of the university executive leadership team, she oversees information security, academic and enterprise technology, client support services, infrastructure and operations, and the strategic direction of an institution dedicated to helping prepare students for lives of purpose and meaning.

Yerk-Zwickl holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Cedar Crest College, and a Master of Science in Educational Technology from Lehigh University.
